I liked the moon and the hackers. It was exciting and made me want to keep reading. Moon Girl was brave and smart.
Girl, Age 12
The world-building in this book is amazing. I could picture the Lunar Coding Complex in my head like I was actually there. What made the story special was that it wasn't only about technology. It was about growing up, making difficult choices and deciding what kind of person you want to be. I especially liked how Moon Girl wasn't a perfect hero. She made mistakes and got scared, but she still tried to do the right thing. That's why I was cheering for her the whole time.
Boy, Age 11
I read this because the cover looked cool, but I ended up loving the story. Imagine being sent to the moon to work for a giant company and then finding out there are secret hackers trying to fight back. That's basically the kind of book this is. There were loads of twists and I guessed wrong about who was trustworthy almost every time. The story felt really different from other books I've read because it mixed coding, friendships, crushes and action together. I'd give it 10/10 and would read it again.
Girl, Age 11
I don't usually read science fiction, but this book changed my mind. Living on the moon sounded lonely and scary, and I felt sorry for the children who had to grow up there. Moon Girl's friendship with her best friend was my favourite thing about the story. The hacking parts were interesting, but what I liked most was how the characters cared about each other. Some scenes made me nervous because I didn't know what would happen. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes adventure stories.
Boy, Age 12
This book was awesome. At first I thought it was just going to be about computers, but then it turned into a mystery and an escape story too. The best part was that the adults and the corporation weren't just obviously evil all the time, so you never knew what was really going on. Dovrin was my favourite character because he seemed cool, but I wasn't sure if I should trust him. The ending was really tense and I stayed up later than I was supposed to finish it.
Girl, Age 10
I really liked How I Hacked the Moon because it felt exciting all the way through. My favourite character was Moon Girl because she was smart but also worried about things sometimes, which made her feel real. The moon school was such a cool idea. I liked reading about coding and AI even though I don't know much about them. There were lots of surprises and I kept wanting to know who could be trusted. I would definitely read another book about these characters.
